EMPLOYMENT LITIGATION

MedRite Wage and Hour Lawsuit

On October 25, 2024, Fitapelli & Schaffer, LLP filed a class and collective action lawsuit against MedRite, LLC and Staffing Boutique, Inc. (“MedRite”). The lawsuit claims that MedRite failed to pay proper wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) and New York Labor Law (“NYLL”), including unpaid minimum wages, overtime pay, and failure to pay manual workers on a weekly basis as required by the NYLL.

The lawsuit also alleges that MedRite failed to provide accurate wage statements, as required by law, which prevented employees from verifying their pay. Additionally, some employees experienced delays in payment for their final weeks of work, leaving them without compensation for hours worked. Affected workers may include all current and former hourly workers who worked for MedRite in New York since August 26, 2017, including generalists and similarly situated hourly positions.
