Brian S. Schaffer Partner

Brian S. Schaffer is a partner at Fitapelli & Schaffer, LLP and is widely recognized as among the top employment lawyers in the country. An aggressive litigator, he handles class and collective actions for both employees and consumers, and he’s been appointed class counsel in numerous high-profile cases — most recently in a matter that resulted in a $15.6 million recovery for the firm's clients.

Mr. Schaffer is a former Judicial Clerk in Kings County who began his legal career at one of the largest music publishing companies in the country. He later moved to a well-known employment law firm in New York's financial district, where he litigated against some of the largest companies in the United States on behalf of employees who were sexually harassed, discriminated against, and wrongfully terminated, including representing several PGA golfers.

His handling of high-profile cases has led to frequent national media coverage, including a full segment on CBS’s “Eye on America” covering a sexual harassment case against the United States Postal Service. Mr. Schaffer earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy, politics and law from Binghamton University and his Juris Doctor from New York Law School, where he was on the Dean's List. He is licensed to practice law in New York State and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and is a member of the American Bar Association, New York County Lawyers Association, and NELA.
