On July 7, 2014, Fitapelli & Schaffer, LLP filed a class action lawsuit against Costco Wholesale Corporation and the owners\/operators of PopCorners, a brand of \u201call natural\u201d popped corn chip products.\u00a0 The lawsuit alleges that the defendants failed to compensate Sales Representatives of PopCorners overtime pay.\u00a0 The plaintiff alleges that he would be required to hand out free samples in a specific Costco location and be required to work from open to close of the store.\u00a0 As a result of this practice, the plaintiff worked in excess of 40 hours per week without being paid time and one half his regular hourly wage rate.\u00a0 Instead, the plaintiff was paid a fixed weekly salary regardless of the amount of hours he worked.<\/p>\n
