Timesheet rounding for workers\u00a0is unfortunately a common tactic used by employers to save on labor costs<\/a>\u00a0at the expense of their employees. These lawsuits specifically claimed\u00a0that\u00a0Home Depot paid their hourly associates to the nearest 15 minutes of their shift.\u00a0DespiteThe\u00a0Home Depot claiming\u00a0that their policy of \u201ctimesheet rounding\u201d equally rounded up\u00a0as well as\u00a0down, many hourly employees claimed it was\u00a0most often\u00a0purposefully\u00a0rounded down, which consistently lowered their pay.\u00a0Recently, courts had ruled in favor of\u00a0hourly workers, stating that\u00a0if an employer\u00a0has the ability to\u00a0capture\u00a0the\u00a0exact amount of time an employee has worked during a shift, they should in\u00a0fact be playing\u00a0employer must pay the employee for ‘all the time’ worked.\u00a0As of\u00a0January 16\u00a0this year,\u00a0the\u00a0Home Depot\u00a0decided to officially change its pay policy\u00a0and has\u00a0done away with timesheet rounding.
