These claims ofmisclassification\u00a0were brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act (\u201cFLSA\u201d)\u00a0and\u00a0will be\u00a0settled\u00a0in the\u00a0$7.4 million payout.\u00a0More than 250 current and former\u00a0sales representatives\u00a0will\u00a0benefit\u00a0from this\u00a0agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This lawsuit, which was initiated back in&nbsp;July of 2018, alleged&nbsp;that due to&nbsp;the&nbsp;extensive&nbsp;control thatZimmer&nbsp;Biomet&nbsp;had over&nbsp;its&nbsp;sales representatives, they should have been classified as employees of the company&nbsp;instead of independent contractors. This would have allowed sales reps to&nbsp;have&nbsp;benefits such as overtime pay and insurance.
